Biennial Update Report of Mauritius

Project: Greenhouse Gas Inventory, Mitigation Assessment and Measuring, Reporting and Verification system in the context of the preparation of the First Biennial Update Report (BUR-1) of Mauritius.

Client: United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) – BEA International

Period: 2020-2021

Objectives:

  • Development of Greenhouse Gas Inventory, Mitigation Assessment, and Measuring, Reporting and Verification system for the different sectors for the period 2014 – 2016;
  • Review and update 2000 – 2013 GHG Inventories for the different sectors, based on 2006 IPCC Guidelines and making use of the IPCC software; and
  • Delivery of appropriate inputs for the different sectors for the preparation of the:
  1. National Inventory Report (NIR);
  2. Chapters of the Biennial Update Report:
    • National Greenhouse Gas Inventory;
    • Mitigation Assessment;
    • Domestic Measurement, Reporting and Verification; and
    • Constraints and Gaps and related financial, technical, and capacity needs, including support needed and received; and Information on level of support received to enable preparation and submission of BUR-1.

  • Technical lead of the Energy, IPPU, and Waste sectors
  • Support to AFOLU sector
  • Capacity building of local stakeholders on GHG emissions methodologies (2006 IPCC Guidelines), IPCC Software, Inventory cycle and MRV systems (GHG inventories, Mitigation and Support).

Informe Bienal de Actualización de Mauricio

Título corto: Informe Bienal de Actualización de Mauricio 

Proyecto: Inventario de Emisiones de GEI, Evaluación de la mitigación y Sistema de Monitoreo, Reporte y Verificación en el contexto de la preparación del Primer Informe Bienal de Actualización (IBA1) de Mauricio. 

Cliente: Programa de Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD) – BEA International  

Fecha: 2019-2021 

Objetivos: 

  • Desarrollo del Inventario de Gases de Efecto Invernadero, Evaluación de la mitigación y Sistema de Monitoreo, Reporte y Verificación para los diferentes sectores para el periodo 2014-2016; 
  • Revisar y actualizar el Inventario de GEI del periodo 2000-2013 para los diferentes sectores, en base a las Directrices IPCC de 2006 y haciendo uso del software de IPCC; y 
  • Entrega de los insumos apropiados para los diferentes sectores para la preparación del: 
  • Reporte Nacional de Inventario (NIR) 
  • Capítulos del Informe Bienal de Actualización: 
  • Inventario Nacional de Gases de Efecto Invernadero 
  • Evaluación de la mitigación 
  • Sistema doméstico de Monitoreo, Reporte y Verificación 
  • Barreras y lagunas y necesidades financieras, técnicas y de capacidad conexas, incluido el apoyo necesario y recibido; e información sobre el nivel de apoyo recibido para permitir la preparación y presentación del IBA-1.
