Project: Technical and policy advising services to update the first NDC of Barbados.
Client: Climate Change Atelier
Objectives: The scope of services of the project focused on technical and policy assessment to define the updated NDC for Barbados. The work included analysis and recommendations at the institutional, policy, regulatory, operational, and financial levels to facilitate such alignment. Furthermore, the analysis identified the main bottlenecks and challenges the country faced to enable this alignment, as well as the development benefits that it could bring. Throughout the consultancy, close dialogue was maintained with local counterparts involved, especially the Ministry of Environment and National Beautification to ensure alignment with national objectives, synergies, ownership and capacity building of local institutions.

- Review and update GHG emissions estimates and projections for the Energy, IPPU and Waste sectors.
- Review and update of the mitigation actions for the Energy, IPPU and Waste sectors.
